I've always wanted to do some TLK fanart but never really knew what to draw. I don't even know what situation this is, or where it fits. I just know that whatever is happening, Taka is feeling left out and this is shaping him to be who he is in the movie(s).
Mufasa and Taka are both born into royalty. Sarabi is slightly older than Mufasa, but was the only female Pridelands cub born in the same season, so she was betrothed to Mufasa who is the burly and more muscular brother. Being slightly older, she’s a little taller, faster and wittier than Mufasa and Taka.
The two youngsters spend a lot of their time together but much to their demise, Taka is to be included in their adventures, at their parents’ requests.
During a game of tag; an energetic game traditionally played by most Pridelander cubs, Sarabi spots a particularly large boulder. Knowing that she is far enough ahead of Mufasa, Sarabi attempts to climb onto it, failing once or twice but hauls herself on just in time to make herself comfortable in the sun.
Upon Mufasa catching up, he feebly attempts to climb the boulder in order to tag Sarabi. Sarabi just sits there basking in the sun, reveling in the thought that she has full immunity until she chooses to climb down. Taka is feeling quite left out because he is too small for Mufasa to tag without at least having a challenge.
I have no idea where Sarafina fits into the story. Perhaps she isn't born yet. *awkward*
I thoroughly enjoyed creating this, I've wanted to do some TLK-fanart since that thing on Facebook where you had to change your display picture to a kid's cartoon. Well, this is it.

The colours of the uploaded version are seriously distorted when you compare it to the original. Sarabi's colours make her look more like Nala/Sarafina, and Mufasa like Simba. Does anyone know how to upload a proper version?
